They Might Be Giants is one of my favorite bands. This song (a cover) is on their album Factory Showroom.

Everyone’s your friend, in New York City.
And everything looks beautiful, when you’re young and pretty.
The streets are paved with diamonds, and there’s just so much to see.
But the best part about New York City is: You and Me.

They Might Be Giants, New York City

This song is the way I feel while feeling and expressing love. Everything is better. The streets are f**king paved with diamonds. But, the best part is You and Me.

I’ve been having a great poly couple of weeks here. I spent some lovely time with a partner that I haven’t gotten to see huge amounts of lately. I got to spend some lovely time with my SP. I got a wonderful letter from an ex. I found a great gift for a different ex in the grocery store. I just had a delightful coffee chat with someone I love. I had a lovely lunch with my SP and a meta on Thursday. I dropped a partner and a meta off at the airport on Friday so they could get a week away. I did a solo date last night dancing to live music and was smitten with the fiddle player.

When this feeling is more muted, it comes across as the maxim “A rising tide lifts all boats.” When it’s more acute, it comes across as a Coney Island montage for this song.

Everything feels sparkly.

Have some second-hand joy. I’m radiating right now. Can’t contain it all.
